What are tungsten and molybdenum?
Release time:2019-06-15
Tungsten and molybdenum are two high-temperature resistant metals, representing an industry along with tungsten and molybdenum, the refractory metal industry. Other refractory metals include tantalum, zirconium, titanium, and tantalum, which are not elements. They have a significant impact on industrial development. Currently, the products are mainly used in the electrical electrodes of argon arc welding machines. China is the world's largest producer of tungsten and molybdenum, accounting for 80% of global exports. They are widely used in industries such as welding, electric light sources, electronic components, chemical engineering, mining, metallurgy, shipbuilding, petroleum, and aerospace.
Tungsten-molybdenum and tungsten-molybdenum alloys possess excellent thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, high-temperature strength, low vapor pressure, and wear resistance. They have become essential in the manufacturing of electronic power equipment, metal material processing industries, glass manufacturing industries, and high-temperature furnace structures. They are used as heavy materials for component manufacturing in aerospace and defense industries. The application of molybdenum and molybdenum alloys in these fields is mainly achieved through machining, forming, metal processing, and welding.
